Very bad service side items came out before the green chile cheeseburgers the burgers were not that great. I would eat somewhere else before I go here again.

Super fast service, and AWESOME burgers.Came from Texas and I'm used to Whataburger, but we had to stop somewhere to use the restroom on a road trip, so I figured I'd order a burger first so the wait wouldn't be so long. A couple minutes later, the burger is waiting for me in a bag. I take it to the car, it's exactly as I ordered, and it tastes PHENOMENAL.I wasn't even hungry before, and now I wish I got another. I will remember this bar.

Closed Sunday, worth waiting. Came for famous Chile cheeseburger. Not much to look at, but tastes great.

Good green chili burger! The meat patty was pretty thin, and I prefer some meat on the burger. But for the price, not bad, no frills burger!

Literally one of my favorite places on earth. My grandparents started taking me here when I was a kid and I haven’t stopped coming since. If you’re in the area, it’s worth the stop. That green chili cheeseburger is a masterpiece!

Called in the order ahead of time. I'm most impressed with their on line menu which made the ordering process so easy. The hostess who took my order and rang me up was so nice and friendly. This was my first trip since Covid and it was great getting such amazing service. The food was great, best onion rings I've ever had. If they had red chili it would have been 6 stars! My boyfriend filled up on the green chili fries and we saved our cheese burger patties for later down the road! Well worth the stop!

Burger was dry and had no seasoning. Had to add salt. Got the double and only had 1 slice of cheese, menu said 2 slices. Maybe it wouldn't have been so dry if there were 2 slices of cheese. The cheese fries were really good, but the fries could have been a bit crispier to accommodate the cheese sauce. Got soggy fast.

I've been coming here for years and this is my favorite place for a green chili cheeseburger. The food is always very consistent every single time I've been here and the staff is always really nice and friendly. Get your fries with cheese you won't be disappointed. 5⭐

Great green chili cheese burger and green chili cheese onion ringsI did go back a couple of days later and sweet Mary the party melt with green chilies is to die for. Oh and another round of onion rings with chili cheese sauce. I'm in heaven!!!!

I eat here once a month. Green Chile burgers are superb. They treat me like a local even though I am on the road. Love the onion rings. Splurge on the pie!

Burgers are great! Loved that the menus only had a couple items. Staff has been there forever, always friendly but veritably a no nonsense kind of place. It's dark and just what I think a good old dive bar should be like. But your can certainly bring the kids.

My Review was deleted before, so I will write it again:Great food. However the employees are awful. If you are thinking of working here do not do it. They treat employees like trash. The waitresses are mean and hateful to anyone that is not a waitress. Meg, Brenda, and DJ are the most guilty of this. Do not sit with them because of how they treat their fellow employees. I worked here for several years and this is an honest review of the behind the scenes. This place has good food, but remember how they treat their employees. This pandemic has left people without work and pay and the owl cafe is contributing to this. Keep that in mind the next time you want to give them money.

The Owl is a Road Trip Pit Stop necessity! Classic to the core and outstanding food. We had a blast!

Had another great visit to The Owl! My son and I made a quick stop for lunch on the way to Albuquerque. He had a grilled cheese sandwich, I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and we split an order of cheese fries. The server was quick, friendly, and attentive and the food was great and reasonably priced. We love stopping to eat here... it's one of our New Mexico favorites!

This place is a shadow of what it used to be. I originally visited about 10 years ago and was very impressed. I went back today and we waited nearly an hour for cold, burnt burgers. 2 of the 4 didn't even have Green Chile on them! Our waiter was nice, but not attentive. The ambiance of this old restaurant wasn't nearly enough to save it.

Always delicious! We stopped for a quick bite on our way back to Albuquerque from Southern New Mexico and the service was great! We were served hot fresh French fries and a tasty green chili cheeseburger in record time. It was finger licking good! I make it a point to come here every time I’m in the area and it never disappoints.

In a world where hyperbole is the norm, it can be a bit silly and generally underwhelming to see "world famous" anything. So, it was with a bit of skepticism that my son and I ordered our students studied world famous cheeseburger and studied world famous chili cheeseburger respectively. What a wonderful surprise we had upon our first bite. My son immediately lamented that we live so far away stating this was the most delicious cheeseburger he's ever had. Our burgers were delicious! The veggies were crisp and the meat was fresh and tasty. They weren't greasy at all. I added bacon to mine and it was perfectly cooked. If you are coming from and going to VLA and Bosque Apache like us, or if you find yourself in San Antonio we can't recommend the Owl Bar & Cafe enough!

A wonderful, old time restaurant that takes you back in time! The food is amazing, especially the green Chile cheese burger. Fresh made and cut French fries and a wonderful staff! It's a must see/go to place anytime you are in the area. You can get a drink from the full bar and it's on the way to Ruidoso from Albuquerque, so an even better reason to stop in! Many famous people have passed through the doors, so don't forget to say Hi!

The food is inexpensive and delicious. Lots of green chilies and old timey recipes. The staff is wonderful and quick to answer questions. The only thing I would say needed some attention would be some cleaning. Otherwise, go and enjoy.

My wife and I are big fans of Green Chile Cheeseburgers, and we have tried them all over New Mexico. My wife spent a good portion of her 20s eating at this joint, and she remembered it fondly, but had not eaten here for nearly 20 years! We stopped and ate here on a recent road trip, and she mentioned that it was every bit as good as she remembered. I myself would happy vote for this place to be among the best places to get a Green Chile Cheeseburger in New Mexico!

This was such a good place to grab a bite to eat. I had the dinner salad, chicken tenders and fries. My dad really enjoyed the green Chile burger. The fries were realllly good. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. Overall, this was a good place to eat and definitely worth a fun experience. I did have a piece of the chocolate cake which was a nice sweet finish to a good meal.

I had heard about the Owl and definitely wanted to stop. The green chile cheeseburger was swimming in green chile and had great flavor. Not a good beer selection if you are not into light lagers. Friendly service. It definitely has a rural watering hole vibe. All in all a nice stop if you are around, but I wouldn't make the trip just to eat there.

Old school restaurant bar feel. They said it hasn't changed since 1948. Lots of owls. The food is good. Not the best I've ever eaten but solid. Fun to go once at least for experience.

What a historic gem of an off the beaten path, rustic, and cozy restaurant. The long low windowless stucco building opens up to a long dimly lit interior richly bedecked in decades old memorabilia. From the dozens of owl figurines, to the hundreds of notes tacked to one dollar bills lining the walls, down to the wonderful authentic Mexican food, The Owl restaurant provided us with an exceptional dining experience.

Everything was great! The green chile on the fries, burgers, and patty melt made everything extra yummy. We don't go very often, but we're traveling south we make sure to eat at The Owl Bar & Cafe.😁

Good burgers, especially if you like them with green chile. I had the bowl of beans and chile, which seems like it would be pretty boring but was actually delicious. Look elsewhere if you're vegetarian. Good prices. Funky independent restaurant with lots of amusing decor.

Impressive burger joint for being in the middle of nowhere. Lost a start for a hell of a messy burger (had double everything with green chile).

Very great classic green chile cheeseburger! Veggies were cold and crisp, great tasting burger. Nothing fancy in terms of bun but they aren't trying to be a gourmet restaurant. Fries were very tasty but I'd prefer crisper fries. They are fresh though. Worth stopping in!

Just want to say thank you to Rowena and Adolph for taking time to come and visit me. I know you just had surgery but it was really good to see you it's been a few years. I still remember all those times that you used to bring me hamburgers and chili to Las Vegas Nevada God bless and love you guys always a great experience when I get to visit the Owl Cafe
